the new at sea record
Date posted: May 4, 2012
The new At Sea record is pretty much done! We have decided to call it “A New Machine,” after its overall tone, and the title of one of its most epic tracks.
It will release later this summer via a new label/marketing outfit called the Creative Entertainment Network and Sony’s RED Distribution, in conjunction with our own Soap Media.
The new record features remastered/tweaked versions of the six songs we released digitally in 2011, plus four new songs.
We are beyond excited to get behind this thing and share it with everyone! Sneak peeks and listens will come soon!

From studio hibernation back to the stage….
Date posted: February 22, 2012
Hey At Sea fans/friends,
It’s been a long time! We hope 2012 is treating you well.
At Sea has most definitely not disappeared. But we have been hibernating a bit. After releasing a run of two-song digital singles through the late summer and fall of 2011, we hunkered down to finish our first album-length recording. More info on this coming very soon, but we are proud to say that it’s finally close to done!
In the meantime, we’re getting our stage legs back on as we prepare to bring the music to a venue near you! We’re playing at a cool spot in our Brooklyn HQ this weekend, and we invite you all to share the night with us. This is where we’ll be:
Matchless
557 Manhattan Ave. (@ Driggs)
Brooklyn, NY
Saturday, Feb. 25
Doors at 8, At Sea on at 10:30pm
$7
We hope you’ll come out and catch the show this weekend, and spread the word. There’s much, much more to come!
Heart,
At Sea

Coming up on the anniversary of the “Low Light” video… and new video in the works!
Date posted: December 5, 2011
Nearly two years ago we filmed our video for “Low Light.” We have another video in the works for early 2012 shooting, and we thought we would repost this for posterity and in celebration. We loved making this video, which was shot in a creepy, abandoned old church/convent in Greenpoint, in our Brooklyn neighborhood. We concepted the video with our friend and director/editor Kevin Tully, who directed and edited, as well as did some of the shooting.
Check out “Low Light” again, or maybe for the first time:
Also check out our live videos on YouTube, also directed and cut by Kevin Tully. Here’s one for “There Were Happier Ways to Go”:

At Sea/”Burning in His Skin” worldwide digital single released today!
Date posted: November 1, 2011
Dear At Sea fans, friends, and supporters,
We’d like to announce the worldwide digital release of our third extended single this year, “Burning in His Skin.” The title track, along with the song “These Stolen Hours,” is available online as of today via iTunes, Amazon, and many other online avenues via the Creative Entertainment Network/RED Distribution (a division of Sony Music). The songs have been set up to stream from our Facebook fan page and will be up on atseamusic.com shortly.
As always, we’d like to give credit where it’s due: These tracks were recorded by Scott Norton at Headgear in Brooklyn, and in Jason Brody’s studio. They were co-produced by At Sea and Christian Celaya (of With Lions), and were mixed and mastered by Steve Wright at Wrightway Studios in Baltimore. The gorgeous artwork was done by our friend Darren Gaines.
We encourage you to listen, like, buy if you can, and enjoy! Most of all we’d love it if you’d share what we’re doing with the rest of the world and review it wherever you can. We could not keep it all going without your support!
In addition to this new music there are some new live videos up on our YouTube page (also on Facebook and our other social networks), and more to come. Check ‘em out!
We hope you’ll check out the new music and spread the word. There’s lots more to come, so stay tuned!
Heart,
At Sea

Dear At Sea fans, friends, and supporters,
We have lots of news to share! So we’ll get to it:

powerfully influential rock albums ever put out there. In honor of Nirvana’s Nevermind, we invite you to check out At Sea’s version of

stream all of the new At Sea music on our Facebook page and here on our website on the “Listen” page.
These tracks were recorded by Scott Norton at Headgear in Brooklyn, and in Jason’s studio. They were co-produced by At Sea and Christian Celaya (of With Lions), and were mixed and mastered by Steve Wright at Wrightway Studios in Baltimore. The gorgeous artwork was done by our friend Darren Gaines.
2. There’s an At Sea show this Saturday at one of our favorite LES haunts in NYC. Please come out for the music and merriment!:

3. If you haven’t already seen this around Facebook, At Sea is a finalist in a competition called NYC Rising. We were among 16 chosen out of 700 entries. If we win, some really cool shows and perks are in store for us. But we need your votes to make that happen. Please visit the NYC Rising page and vote for At Sea. Do it as many times as you want! It will take you no time at all and it would mean a lot to us if we win. That page again: http://nycrising.net. You can also vote directly on this page–see below.

At Sea/”Everything Looks Better in the Dark” worldwide digital release today!
Date posted: August 23, 2011
Dear At Sea fans, friends, and supporters,
Today marks the release of the first in a series of extended singles we will be putting out through the rest of the year, and the first new
music we have put out in quite some time. We could not be more proud.
This single includes the title track “Everything Looks Better in the Dark” and the song “A Long, Long Night.” These tracks were recorded by Scott Norton at Headgear in Brooklyn, and in Jason’s studio. They were co-produced by At Sea and Christian Celaya (of With Lions), and were mixed and mastered by Steve Wright at Wrightway Studios in Baltimore. The gorgeous artwork was done by our friend Darren Gaines.
Please take some time to listen to/like/review/buy/retweet/repost “Everything Looks Better in the Dark” on iTunes or Amazon.com or wherever else it is that you like to find your music. Play these songs loud, with the lights dim, alone or with your loved ones. We
hope they make you feel something, even if it’s something small, as that’s what At Sea is all about.
Thank you so much for your support. We hope you enjoy the music and look forward to bringing you more of it!
Heart,
At Sea

Date posted: July 18, 2011
Hello Internet friends/followers/surfers,
We hope you’re loving this summer as much as we are. The time is flying by, and we can’t believe we’ve not posted on here in so long. Been focused more on the social networks, lately, maybe.
Lots of exciting stuff happening! New collaborators on both the musical and biz ends of the spectrum have become part of the AT SEA collective and we feel beyond blessed for all their contributions. Recording has been moving along and we are pleased to announce that we plan to release a series of digital-only extended singles via iTunes beginning in mid-August. We’ll also be doing various giveaways and shows in conjunction with these releases, which will culminate in a full-length album.
We also have a killer show coming up and we really want you all to be there. It’s our first time at this venue–one of the best in Brooklyn, we think–and this show will be filmed for posterity, YouTube, and possible inclusion in a soon-to-be-made video. And we’re opening for Ben Jelen’s band Under the Elephant! So let your faces be seen and your applause and cheers be heard. We will be here:
CAMEO
93 N. 6TH ST (Berry and Wythe)
BROOKLYN, NY
SATURDAY, JULY 23

For the Facebookers, here’s the invite: https://www.facebook.com/pages/At-Sea/98728251619#!/event.php?eid=246080572072936
We’re finally rolling out some of that live video footage we keep talking about. Check the WATCH page and see! And we will let you know about the August iTunes release and more shows soon!
Please “like” us on Facebook to stay more in the loop in case all the info doesn’t get up on this site: http://www.facebook.com/pages/at-sea/98728251619
In the meantime, we urge you to come out to Cameo for an amazing night of music and mirth.

Sorry to be so out of touch! Jason has been toiling away in the studio on new tracks to add to what will become the new At Sea record that we’re looking to release later this year.
It has been an intense and amazing process thus far, and we’re working with some new collaborators that are really taking the sounds we have already to a whole new level. We’re still putting a single together as a teaser, and we’re hoping to roll this out in conjunction with one of our upcoming shows.
Speaking of, we’ve got one next week near our HQ in Williamsburg! We’ve never played this venue before–a really cool space that hosts great bands all the time–and we would love to see your faces out in the crowd. And it’s free! Welcome spring with At Sea here:

We hope you can make it out for this show if you’re in the area.
